Save the date! The Steady Steps annual spring fundraiser will be on Saturday, March 21st at 6 PM at the Ft. Mason Community Building. Don’t miss this year’s “Under the Sea” event featuring a delicious catered meal from Nacho’s (by donation - no tickets needed) and the traditional cake and silent auctions.
Record crowds have been noted at the monthly tours conducted by the Seaquist House Foundation. Not only have there been a large number of in-state visitors, but a surprising number of out-of-state visitors have also been in attendance. These visitors stay in town, eat at local restaurants, and shop in the stores around the Square.
The Riata Service Organization plans their Annual Rummage Sale for Saturday morning, March 7th from 8:00-12:00 at the American Legion Hall, located on Post Hill St. behind the Mason jail. The funds raised from the sale are always channeled back into the Mason community through various projects.
Some items available will include furniture, household items, linens, jewelry, clothes and other treasures.

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Representative Mike Conaway (TX-11) invites high school students from the 11th District of Texas to participate in the 2020 Congressional Art Competition. The deadline to enter is Monday, April 6th. The Congressional Art Competition is an annual competition hosted by congressional districts around the nation. The winning piece will be displayed in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S.

I was prepared to rant about Daylight Saving Time that starts this week. It is the height of stupidity to believe daylight can be saved by getting up an hour earlier.
