Celena Resendez will teach two final classes of the Second-Step program. She will be here on Friday, July 19, and Friday, July 26, at 2:00 P.M. in the Stribling Room of the Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library, 410 Post Hill St. These classes follow a set curriculum and use fun activities to allow children to learn and practice social, emotional, listening, focusing, and problem-solving skills that set the stage for school success.
Ms. Caroline Chi of BancorpSouth will teach a Homebuyer Seminar in the Stribling Room of the Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library, 410 Post Hill St.
The seminar will run from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon, and admission is free. Participants will learn about credit scores, homebuyer incentives, veterans and special needs programs, the home-buying process, home affordability, home inspections and maintenance, mortgage and home insurance, and more.

On Monday, July 22nd at 9:00 a.m. the box office opens to donors for FTC’s summer finale, the hit Off-Broadway musical comedy Nunsense. Tickets will go on sale to the general public the following Monday, July 29th, at 9:00. Nunsense opens Friday, Aug 9th and will have six performances at the Steve W.
At present, we are needing a host family for Johnson a 15-year-old student from Taiwan. We are looking for a family who would be willing to open their hearts and home to him, but also for any of our wonderful exchange students. For Johnson, he enjoys playing basketball and is the captain of his team.
I hope you had a great weekend. There were many roundup activities. I joined daughter in law, Crystal, at her booth on the Courthouse lawn. I saw a bit of the parade from my shady spot. Then, after a food truck lunch, I went home for a nap. It was a great day.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Mason Post 8554, will sponsor the float for the benefit of Veterans who wish to be recognized for their service to COUNTRY, Saturday, July 13. If any wish to ride, check in by 9 AM for photo op prior to start of parade at 10.
All traps picked up by the City of Mason will include a $15 fee ($5 landfill + $10 pickup). This fee includes both traps provided by the City of Mason, as well as personal traps set by citizens.
Traps will be set Monday and will be picked up first thing Friday mornings, as the weather allows.
7:00 a.m. -- Post Hill, Schmidt, Bryan Streets will close for floats to line up.
9:15 a.m. -- N. Spring St. (alley/radio station) will close for folks to enjoy the parade there.
Streets in the downtown area will close at 9:45 a.m. Rerouting of highway traffic on city streets through town will begin at 9:50 a.m.
