On Monday, December 17 we’ll be reading Mouse’s Christmas by Alan Baker. We’ll join Mouse as he visits each of his friends as they busily prepare for Christmas; The disappointed mouse wonders if they have forgotten about him... until he finds a surprise awaiting him at home. A fun take-home Christmas craft will follow the reading of our story.
Storytime is held Mondays at 10:30 am in the Kid’s Zone of the Mason Co.
The Library staff has been working hard to get the Library into the Christmas spirit. This year our tree in the foyer, decorated by the Study Club, is covered in purple and silver to honor all of Mason’s Punchers and Cowgirls! Even our two Old Yeller stuffed dogs (pictured) are decked out.

On Wednesday, December 19th, the First United Methodist Church will host its third Advent luncheon for “A Joyous Christmas” with Kendra Klaerner leading the devotion time.
Celebratory music will be provided by Laura and Alex Logan. The devotion and music time starts at noon with a light luncheon to follow. The entire community is invited to join the coming of the Christ Child at Christmas with the First United Methodist community.
Mason Youth Basketball registration ends this Saturday, December 8th. Skills day and the team drafts will be done this weekend. Once the teams are drafted, no more registrations will be accepted.
If your child cannot be there on Saturday they can still be placed on a team as long as we get a registration form by their tryout times listed below.

Each winter from December through early March, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) stocks rainbow trout in more than 100 locations across Texas. This winter, Mason County will host one of these fishing opportunities at the James River Crossing on Highway 2389. The Mason County winter fishing opportunity is called WinterFisch and will include two release dates, one on December 8th, 2018 and one on February 2nd, 2019.
The last days of November brought several visitors to the Mason County Nutrition Program. Last week, the wonderful ladies from the Riata organization came by to deliver a wonderful donation of $2,000 to the Program. We are very thankful for their generosity and support. On Wednesday, November 28th, Hill Country Preferred Senior Care hosted a sweet treat of ice cream for our guests.
Mason’s Scarlet Punchers, those intrepid women “of a certain age,” LOVE a routine! When we get in a rut, we move in furniture! But the catch is that all our “ruts” are fun ones. Remember folks, the 2018 Community Christmas Party at the Peter’s Prairie Schoolhouse will be Saturday, December 8th @ 6:00 PM.
Meal will be BBQ, Beans, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Pickles, Onions, Sauce, Bread, Tea & Coffee.
This year, attendees are ask to bring desserts.
In lieu of any gifts or games, we are asking for monetary donations for our neighbors, the Pinter Family.
