I am getting that Christmas feeling. The Christmas music is helping. The tree we put up and one strand of lights were out didn’t help. It is a work in progress at this point. I am thinking a new tree is the best solution. Class Meetings continue at the Art United Methodist Church on Wednesday evenings with soup at 6 and the meeting follows at 6:30.
The First United Methodist Church will host its second advent luncheon on December 12 from noon until 1:00 to celebrate "A Joyous Christmas" season. A short devotional time will be presented by Emily Hicks, and the singing of traditional Christmas carols will be led by Dorothy Asbill and musician Marilyn Kahan.
St. Paul Lutheran Church will present "The Journey to Bethlehem" Drive Thru Christmas Luminary on December 9 at Fort Mason City Park. The time set is 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Admission is free. A backup date of December 16 is being held this year. Please come and join us for a joyful evening that will ignite the spirit with hope and peace. The Mason Community Choir will present the cantata, “More Than a Manger” this Sunday, December 2, 6 :00 pm at First United Methodist Church. It is our wish that these songs will help you look through the eyes of your circumstance and see Christmas in a fresh new way. The service is sponsored by the Mason Ministerial Alliance and an offering will be taken to benefit the Mason Food Bank.
I am thankful for a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with lots of good food and visiting with family. If you were too busy to think about your blessings, take time now to be thankful. I am ready to put up my Christmas decorations. However, my energy level is not there to dig out and tote all the tubs downstairs.
Hill Country Astronomers (HCA) will meet at 6:30 PM, Monday, December 3, in the HEB Activity Room at Hill Country University Center in Fredericksburg. HCA member Dan Posey will present “Telescopes by the Numbers.” His program will cover easy ways to estimate the sharpness and brightness of views that your telescope can provide.
