The Mason County Cancer Benefit will be hosting their annual Bake Sale Fundraiser, Friday, November 2, 2018, at Weber’s Chevron. We invite you to stop by from 8 a.m. until we run out. Headed to the deer lease? We’ve got the snacks for you, all while supporting a great cause! 90% of the proceeds stay in Mason County to help our community members fighting hard to beat cancer.
The 2018-19 Mason Cowgirl basketball season is less than one week away from tip-off. The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches preseason poll has been released and the Cowgirls are ranked 4th among Class AA schools. You will be able to meet all the Mason Cowgirl basketball teams on Monday, November 5th at 6:30pm in the high school gym.
The Friends of the Library is an organization that provides support for the library and its programs. Membership dues go toward library needs. The board of the Friends is a working board that holds the annual Book Sale in the spring, which is their major fundraiser. The Friends have also provided English-as-a-second-language classes for the Spanish-speaking members of our community.
Mason ISD is accepting nominations for the Gifted and Talented program. All nominations are due by 3:30 p.m. this Friday, November 2. If you would like to nominate your child for the Gifted and Talented program, please go to Mason Elementary/Junior High for the necessary paperwork. Please join us for a Friends of the Library Annual Membership Meeting for all members on Thursday November 1, 2018 at 6:30 in the Stribling Room at the Mason County Library. There will be a very short business meeting. We will review our mission and the activities and projects we will be pursuing in the coming year.
Happy Halloween. I always enjoy seeing the kiddos in their costumes. I don’t enjoy the toilet paper blowing into my yard from the neighbors. My poor neighbors have been “wrapped” regularly for about a month. Daylight Savings Time goes away this week. When I go to bed Saturday night, I will reset the clocks and rejoice Sunday for the return to God’s time. St.
AUSTIN, TEXAS – October 17, 2018 -- Catholic Charities of Central Texas (CCCTX) announced it has activated its disaster response team in response to floods in the Texas Hill Country in Llano, Mason, Kingsland, Horseshoe Bay, and Marble Falls. Catholic Charities serves anyone in need by strengthening families and promoting respect for human dignity and life.
The Mason Youth Football team is heading to the super bowl in Llano, Texas this Saturday at 12 p.m. where they will take on Llano's team for the ultimate prize!... Please everyone come out and support these little guys ..we will need all the cheers from Mason since we are on Llanos home turf!
Storytime is held Mondays at 10:30 a.m. in the Kid’s Zone of the Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library. Children ages 2-6 are welcome and should be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Weekly stories are led by Carol Lampman, an elementary school teacher specializing in early childhood development. Join us Monday, October 29, for a treat as we enjoy a surprise Halloween story and craft activity.
This past Sunday, St. Josephs Youth group spent the afternoon sprucing up Crosby Cemetery in preparation for their upcoming service project. Following in the rich tradition of the Catholic Church in the celebration of All Souls Day. The purpose is to remember and pray for not only our loved ones but for the souls who have passed before us in death.
