With the City of Mason actively working to provide a new Landfill for the current and future needs of our community, Mason Bank has become a full partner in the project by providing the funding that can make this happen. On August 12 the final steps were taken and Mason Bank purchased the entire bond issue of Certificates of Obligation from the City providing $1,800,000 to pay for all of the construction costs for this new project.

HCM was one of only eight in Texas on Newsweek’s annual list of best maternity hospitals, that includes 231 hospitals across 36 states.
Perry Donop Jr. knows the details of his family history in Texas going back to the 1800s, from the

with peril, with several family members dying of cholera on the trip, and the ship foundering in a
horrific storm off the Texas coast.

The cooler weather this week is a welcome relief, even if it does get up to 100 degrees for a bit before the week is over. It means the air conditioners will not have to work as hard as the previous couple of weeks, and the watering of our grass and landscape will be a bit more effective.
Twelve deserving students from the Texas Hill Country were awarded a total of $19,000 in scholarships by the Hill Country Cattle Women. These students are currently Juniors or Seniors attending Texas Universities. One graduating High School Senior also received a scholarship to a Texas Trade School.

AUSTIN – The U.S. Census Bureau’s Central Texas team will launch its STOP THE KNOCK campaign during the week of August 2-9. The campaign is designed to encourage residents to respond to the Census now to lessen the possibility of a Census employee knocking on their door later in the month of August.
