7th vs. Winters
The 7th grade Punchers lost a tough one to end the season to Winters. Winters got rolling quick and we were never able to get ahead. An interception late in the 4th quarter sealed the deal as Winters marched down to make it 28-14. Scoring for the Punchers were Hayden Harding with a touchdown and 2 point conversion and Derek Ontiveroz with a touchdown as well.

The Heart of Texas Events Center will host Two Step Tuesday with Justin Trevino on Tuesday, November 22. The dance is BYOB and will be held at the Heart of Texas Events Center at 804 San Angelo Highway in Brady, Texas. Admission is $10 at the door.
Justin Trevino grew up while artists like Curtis Potter, Darrell McCall and Justin Tubb were still commonly heard on the air, and he shared their appreciation for the country shuffle.
In observance of the Great American Smokeout on Nov. 17, the Hill Country Memorial Wellness Center has launched a new smoking cessation program.
“The annual Great American Smokeout is a one-day event to encourage smokers to quit, and we suggest smokers use the date to make a plan to quit,” said Dawn Sparrow, HCM Smoking Cessation Program Coordinator.
Mason ISD is currently accepting nominations for the Gifted and Talented Program. Nominations will be accepted until 3:30 p.m. on Monday, November 21st. If you would like to nominate your child for the screening/testing process of the Gifted and Talented Program, please go to the Mason Elementary/Junior High Office for the necessary paperwork.

The Doss students are seen here in their costumes they wore for “Character Day”, October 28. Students from left to right are Keyleigh Thatcher, Wesson Gould, Patrick Howard, Micah Chapa and Braeden Wadsworth. On Character Day the kids get to bring their favorite book to school and dress as their favorite character.
They also enjoyed playing games including, bobbing for apples and pinning the stem on the pumpkin.
Central Texas Electric Cooperative (CTEC) is collecting toys again this holiday season. A free koozie will be given to individuals that bring in donation items.
CTEC is working with Bluebonnet CASA for this toy drive. The ages served range from one month to 18 years of age. Some of the items they are looking for are books, infant toys, baby dolls, Legos, board games, footballs and soccer balls.
CTEC will be collecting until December 11th.
The Cowgirls left Friday afternoon to compete at the 2017 State Cross Country Championships held Saturday at 1:30 in Round Rock at Old Settler’s Park. The girls and I would like to thank all of you who came to cheer them on!
Despite a couple of injuries, the Cowgirls were still able to pull off a 10th place finish as a team and medal the school record holder, Angelica Ramirez, who placed 8th in the state!
The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, November 8th, (election day) for it’s weekly luncheon meeting. There were 29 members and 5 visitors in attendance. Among the visitors were 4 Mason High School Seniors, Jazlyne Padilla, Brianna Humble, Susan Airheart, and Brittany George.
