Steven and Jake Olson welcome their new baby sister, Karena Gail, born on November 7, 2015. Grandparents are John and Karen Olson of Mason, Texas.
Bridget Langdale was invited by Lion Ron Curry to speak at his Lion's Club in Kerrville, Texas on December 1, 2015. Ron had heard Bridget's talk on the Ecology of Dark Skies learning about the importance of a dark sky, while in the 2015 Texas Master Naturalist Class last August.
Bluebonnet CASA would like to give a special thank you to the Mason Community Foundation and the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) for their wonderful support of Bluebonnet CASA this season. The foundation made a $1,000 dollar donation towards the purchase of Christmas gifts for all our children in care.
Announcing the engagement of Kassie Marie Haines to Alan Michael Eason. Kassie is the daughter of John and Dayna Haines and Alan is the son of Deborah Johnson and Tommy and Elise Eason. The couple is to be wed on February 27th at River of Life Church at 4 p.m.
What are these groovy ladies doing?? Find out this Saturday, Dec. 12 a presents a FREE Christmas Recital. Many local dance students will perform a variety of holiday hits for your enjoyment. Show time is at 1pm in the Mason High School auditorium.
Brad and Jennifer Schneider and the Team of 72 Degrees supported Breast Cancer Awareness month during October by raising and donating $9,938 to help cover the medical bills of Sabrena Vazquez, a team member's wife who was diagnosed earlier this year. 72 Degrees continues to support that fight and thanks all that have generously donated to this special cause.
The freshman boys basketball team played last weekend in the Irion County JV Tournament. The boys played well for the first week of playing. They hustled and played great defense which helped the go 5-3 in the tournament. The regular meeting of the Mason Garden Club will be on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. at the Mason County M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library, Stribling Room. This is our annual Christmas party and members need to bring their favorite holiday pot luck dish and a white elephant gift that can be either garden related or not.
For the second consecutive year, Hill Country Memorial has been recognized by Women's Choice Award as an America's Best Hospital for Obstetrics and as one of America's 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience. The Women's Choice Awards identify the best hospitals nationwide that are women-friendly and align with women's health care needs and preferences.
The JV boys basketball teams traveled to Junction last weekend to play in their JV Tournament. The Punchers played very well for their first outing beating Comfort 24-22. The next game the Punchers fell short, falling to Bandera 35-31. In the Third place game the Punchers took on Leakey and trailed for much of the game.
