Will There Be Any Maalox in Heaven?

The tablet used, the container discarded. Millions of these little packages are used and thrown away each day, I'm sure. But this was the first one I had ever found in a hunting blind on our ranch!

I have survived another Halloween. I sat on the porch ready to hand out candy but discovered that lots of trick-or-treaters didn’t want to walk up my driveway. I will find a different way to distribute. Maybe I will give candy to the library to hand out with their candy.

Some Less-Common Trees and Shrubs of the Hill Country: Part II
Last week I wrote about some Hill Country native trees and shrubs that are not rare, but certainly not common. In the process of writing I realized there were more trees and shrubs in that category than I thought, so here are several more. Bigtooth maple (Acer grandidentatum) is the famous tree of Lost Maples State Park.
It is a busy week for library events. On the 28, 29, and 30th from 9:00 to 4:00, the Friends of the Library are hosting their Book and Bake Sale at the Mason Community Building by the Puncherdome. If you have any last minute donations, feel free to drop them off at the Community Building (NOT the library) on Tuesday or Wednesday.
