The City of Mason and Mason County, in a cost cutting move several years ago, eliminated the City's police department, and signed an interlocal agreement with the County to help pay the County for providing law enforcement for the city residents. In theory, this is a completely workable arrangement. However, cracks have been appearing in the agreement during the last couple of years, culminating in some very heated meetings during the last few months. The fall weather seems to be trying to show up with cooler mornings, but by the afternoons it still feels more like summer with temperatures near 90 or above. We are expecting a good chance for rain later in the week, but I could have predicted that several weeks ago when we set this weekend as the free dump time.
Portable Toilets
Hi Gerry, I have a suggestion that might solve the problem of portable toilets at the golf course being vandalized. Paint a Texas flag on the porta-johns. Better yet, paint the entire porta-john as a Texas flag. The Chamber could commission the art classes at the High School to paint and decorate them. Or the Chamber could have a Porta-Potty Paint-Off. Or businesses in town could requisition a porta-john to paint and decorate for a prize of some sort. I'm not guaranteeing this will work to keep ...
Things To Remember When It Finally Rains Again
Parts of Texas have now recovered from the lingering drought that has affected almost the entire state. For the most part, even with rains in early summer, the rest of us are still coping with drought on a daily basis. I've been going back time and again to the various forecasts for the week ahead.
