As you probably know if you pay attention, the general deer season opened all over Texas on Saturday. You may be wondering why I didn’t write about the opening of deer season last week, which would have been the logical time to do that. But there’s a valid reason why I waited until this week.
Back off Wal-Mart and the rest of you retailers! It’s Turkey Tom’s turn. Hallmark, too! I love your movies on your TV station, but it’s not Christmas time yet. Too, it’s a little too much for all the snow on the shows when it’s 85 degrees outside! Yes, I say Merry Christmas, never stopped!
The Way We Were… At a time not so long ago--when smiling was a frequent response to something said or done-- we were more relaxed, feeling that much was right with the world. Sadly, smiles have pretty much abandoned faces around our shrinking world. Today, if Abbott and Costello somehow reappeared on earth with their best verbal exchanges about “who’s on first,” there’d be quick searches for strait jackets instead of readings on laugh meters. At First United Methodist Church. (Second service is 10:50). And 9:00 at River of Life for those who speak Spanish. (Otherwise, 10:30.) Mason Community Church worships at 10:00. Church of Christ at 10:20. And St.
I Blame the Fall Weather! There are those who say Texas only has two seasons - summer, and not quite as hot. In Mason, there are definitely four seasons, even if they sometimes pass so quickly you may miss them if you're not paying attention. Winters in Mason don't exactly evoke Currier & Ives.
Providing Care Dear Gerry, Johnson city, Junction, Menard, Comfort, Llano, Brady, Fredericksburg, Kerrville.the list goes on. These communities have assisted living facilities, or long term nusing facilities to care for the members of their community.Having local options allows greater contact with family members and friends. Sadly, Mason residents must be placed in one of these other communities, the least of which is 35 miles away. That being said we really shouldn’t complain, a ...
Church 500 Gerry, I would like to say thank you to St. Paul Lutheran Church for the wonderful 500 celebration. Job well done. David Scarth
