Where did the summer go? I think it sneaked out the back door while I was napping. School is starting soon. Summer band and football practice are in full swing. And, the nightmare of all year, tax free weekend, is this weekend. The Art United Methodist Church will have the blessing of the backpacks on August 20th.
Picking Your Disaster! When you watch the news, it's almost impossible, on any day, to not have a live report from a reporter, somewhere in the world, letting us know about a disaster occurring somewhere in the world. This week, it's been easy to find some of those disasters. On the east coast, flooding has caused problems in parts of Maryland.
Quick Yeast Rolls courtesy: DCASH30526 and allrecipes.com The fellow who posted this recipe on allrecipes.com says that it originated with his great, great grandmother, and that he won first place at his state fair with it. Our household has been on the run again. John has been sick and is currently in the VA nursing home in Kerrville. He has a blood infection and has twice daily IV antibiotic. He hopes to come home by the end of the month. Keep him in your prayers. The Art United Methodist Women will meet on August 14 in the Art Fellowship Hall at 2:30.
HOT. The End. Huh? What? No? Not the end? Nope. Sorry. It ain’t over yet. Still HOT. More HOT. Even HOTTER. HOT. Hace calor hoy. And tomorrow. And the day after tomorrow. ‘Tis summer. ‘Tis the season. ‘Tis August. Il fait chaud. Dry, too. Drouthy. Drains the wells. And one’s energy. Dries up the tanks. Distresses the livestock. The flora and fauna. And the pocketbook. More feed. Less cattle. More water. More wells. More ...
Why Every Single Business Matters! This summer, after 19 years of feeding residents and visitors alike, Santos Taqueria closed its doors. For those involved with the restaurant, it was a difficult decision; but, one that was logical in its timing and outcome. The statistics are not kind when looking the risks of starting a business.
