Rustic Olive Flatbread

I’m constantly on the lookout for new recipes, and one of my favorite sources is the little catalog King Arthur Flour sends me on a regular basis. While their recipes are quite good, since they sell flour and just about anything else a baker could ever use, they tend to sprinkle their recipes liberally with King Arthur Flour products.
Thank you to all the Friends of the Library who worked so hard to put on the Annual Book and Bake Sale—what a success! Thanks, also, to everyone who donated books and came to the sale! Isn’t living in Mason great? Just a reminder that Christian author Karen Witemeyer will be giving a book talk and signing books in the Stribling Room this Saturday at 2:00.

The internet, as you’re already aware if you were born anytime since the Civil War, has revolutionized the way we shop. According to a statistic I just made up, Americans make almost 70% of their purchases online. This is not necessarily a good thing. As Ben Franklin once said, “It’s hard to get a credit card refund on interstate chickens bought with PayPal.” Or words to that effect.
Buying things online is bad for local businesses, besides the fact that you n ...
I really enjoy my coffee. You could call me a “Coffee holic!” Hot in the morning and iced in the afternoon and PM. Not much on creamers, nor am I a light brew. I like the STRONG Bold blends. Okay, I like the vanilla and hazelnut blends! I call the later my fu fu coffee’s.
I like having the first two cups by myself.

If you guess he keeps his seat belt securely fastened at all times--just like the pilots do up front --you are correct.
He acknowledges that many fellow flyers are way off course on travel etiquette, however, and just when he thinks he has seen all possible gro ...
Beef and Vegetable Stuffed Peppers

½ pound ground beef

All that rain.
We knew the bluebonnets would bloom profusely.
Take a drive.
Quick.
Before they’re gone.
Out James River Road.
From Highway 87 all the way to the Llano River.
Or the Llano Highway all the way to Llano.
Or Red Lane.
Or drive around town.

Always Waiting for Something Stranger to Happen.....
I like boring. I've found that, with most things in life, what is exciting for one person is going to be stressful for another. So, just give me a straightforward, uneventful, boring week.
But, life doesn't do that. In fact, it seems that the cosmos often holds things back and then lets go of them all at once....
