Basic Accountability - How Things Function...
Running businesses require constant decisions. To make those decisions, there are many things that must be examined on a constant basis: productivity, efficiency, and perhaps most importantly, accountability.
In just our small business, we have to look at the changing technology and determine how many employees it takes to perform certain functions.
Have I bitten off more than I can chew making this statement?
Not really. It’s easy to make a really good hamburger once you know how to do it. Come join us for a hands-on cooking class at the Mason County Library and you’ll leave knowing all the techniques and ingredients to successfully make that Best Hamburger.
A Real Gem
Dear Citizens,
I would like to express my appreciation for those whose efforts make our municipal government function. As a small town it takes dedicated management to have the city services we do on such a tight budget.
As a contractor I once worked with a community that disbanded all employees in favor of citizen volunteers in order to save tax money.
Bathrooms
Gerry:
The recent directive from the federal government requiring the states to allow sexually confused persons to use the bathroom of their choice puts me in mind of the scripture in the 5th chapter of the book of Isaiah that warns us of woe to those who call evil good and good evil.
Law Enforcement
“KISS” Principal and our Law Enforcement
Citizens of Mason County (which includes City). A simple solution to this “frap” over duplication of Law Enforcement is that the County raise the tax base for everyone to cover their requirements.
Forget the City’s violation of Federal law by misappropriating public funds designated for specific services and giving $386,000 a year to the County the distribution of which they cannot account for because it goes into the County’s ...

Overseeing the land.
Wildflowers.
Filling the fields.
Indian Blankets blanketing the pastures.
Intermingled among the blooming prickly pear.
Along with White Prickly Poppy.

This was another good week. We had a little rain, some had more than others. All rain is appreciated.
Our son Scott, his wife Crystal, and daughter Megan came over to take my husband John fishing. John loves to go fishing and was very excited. I am not a fishing person.

Hometown Boy Made Good...
O’Donnell, TX, where the late Dan Blocker spent most of his “growing up years,” proudly claims him as the “crown jewel” in the local museum.
Folks who want to see memorabilia of the television immortal--“Hoss” Cartwright on the long-running American TV show, Bonanza--can pretty well visit on their terms.
“We grow, too soon old and, too late smart!” Boy, doesn’t this fit the bill?! You would think one would learn by their mistakes. However, I for one, doesn’t heed my own advice. I’ll get into an argument knowing well that I’ll never win. Especially, when arguing with someone who’s one taco short of a full Mexican plate.
