The Mason Puncher baseball season came to a close last Tuesday with their final district game vs. Harper.
The Punchers finished up the season just 1-11 in district. Of those 11 losses, the Punchers dropped 8 of those games by four runs or less. The Punchers had a hard time taking advantage of little plays that would propel the team to win.
With the loss of 4 senior pitchers from last season, the Punchers had several young players step up and pitch for the Punchers.
A week ago, Monday and Tuesday, the Cowgirls and Daniel Parker competed at the State golf tournament in Austin. With aid from the spring rains, the golf course was in great condition for the State tournament. This year, both Daniel and the Cowgirls competed on the Roy Kizer golf course.
This is such a busy time of year for everyone, but it is especially busy for the students of Mason High School.
We have so many events between now and the end of school and there just aren’t enough days to have them all. We are also giving so many awards to such hard working students of MHS, that we don’t have enough room to seat everyone in our cafeteria.
As another successful year of FFA is drawing to a close, the Mason Chapter Officers will be holding the annual FFA banquet on Thursday, May 12, in the school cafeteria. Admission is free and Fajitas will be served starting at 5:30 P.M. and the banquet will begin at 6:00.
Everyone is welcome to attend and recognize the hard work and numerous achievements FFA students have accomplished throughout the year.
