Lob snowballs at a target with a slingshot, watch an ice sculpture take shape and make mini snowmen at the Science Mill's fourth annual Snow Day, as its backyard—the Science & Art Park—is transformed into a winter wonderland with 25 tons of real snow. With a focus on science-based activities and demonstrations, Snow Day activities will take place from 10am to 2pm.

Castell Chili Cook-Off On Saturday, February 15, Castell General Store is having their Annual Chili Cook-Off. Approximately 20 teams, some local, but many travel across Texas just to participate in the friendly yet fierce competition. You don’t have to be a cook or judge to partake in the savory chili tasting—cooks are generous when handing out samples.

Sculpture on Main was originally created in 2006 to bring people to Marble Falls in the fall. “It was designed as a tourist attraction, and what I’ve learned regarding tourism, is when you place great amenities in your city, you not only attract tourists, but you benefit the residents,” said Bill Rives, current Chair of the HLCA.

Being an admirer of Christmas lights, I am making it a personal mission this December to see all of the displays that the Texas Hill Country has to offer, Llano’s Starry Starry Nights being at the top of my list. Debuting the day after Thanksgiving, Llano gets into the holiday spirit each year by displaying a trail of lights along the Llano River in Badu Park.
