Blanco’s only district loss before Friday was a five-set thriller to Ingram, the state’s top-ranked Class 3A team, back on Sept. 29.
The much-anticipated rematch of the two teams was another marathon as the Lady Warriors edged past the Lady Panthers, again in five sets, by scores of 25-20, 20-25, 25-17, 18-25 and 17-15.
The Blanco varsity volleyball team swept its competition in a pair of matches last week.
The Lady Panthers bested the Llano Lady Jackets 3-0 Tuesday, Oct. 6 in the BHS gym and blanked the Comfort Deer 3-0 Friday, Oct. 9 at the Comfort gym. Set scores against Llano were 25-9, 25-8 and 25-5, while set scores in the Comfort game were 25-10, 25-19 and 25-17.
A pair of Blanco girls cross country runners medaled Monday in Llano in the second straight week the team has performed there.
Evelyn Trammell finished 15th in 14:07, while Laci Creswell took 23rd place in 14:36. They both medaled at the meet.
Also for the Lady Panthers, Riley Edmondson finished 30th in 15:43, Valen Edwards was two spots behind Edmondson in 32nd place and ran the course in 15:53, while Daryn Kirkland took 35th in 16:12.

Evelyn Trammell finished 15th in 14:22 for the Lady Panthers and medaled. For the boys, Hayden Dotson finished 22nd in 21:58 and also medaled.
Joshua Ludolf finished just out of the medal placings for the Panthers, taking 26th place in 22:17.
Also for the Lady Panthers, Laci Creswell finished 29th in 15:22, Riley Edmondson took 34th place in 15:59, and Daryn Kirkland finished 37th in 16:23.

Blanco went to Ingram Sept. 29 with a plan to defeat the #1 state-ranked Ingram Lady Warriors. Ingram is the top-ranked Class 3A team the Texas Girl’s Coaches Association poll.
The Lady Panthers stretched the match as far as they could, but the Warriors won in five sets 25-23, 18-25, 19-25, 25-21 and 16-14.
Presley Young led the Panthers with 18 kills, two aces, three assists, eight digs and two blocks.

COVID-19 precautions haven’t dampened the homecoming spirit at Blanco High School, as evidenced by the number of students participating in ‘Pajama Day’ Monday. The week-long celebration wraps up Friday with the 7:30 p.m. homecoming football game against Canyon Lake, and the crowning of the homecoming queen will be held at halftime of the game.
