They didn’t know where a park is in Llano, but they saw the library sign and decided to stop here. They were so pleasantly surprised by our Children’s Area and how welcoming and friendly our library is.

Baritone players are not given the spotlight in marching band shows as frequently as many other instrumentalists, but the LYJB is going against that trend this year by featuring Garath Vetters during “Stairway to Heaven”. According to Vetters, “When I first learned I was going to be a featured soloist, I was surprised and very excited.” A senior who has certainly paid his dues, Vetters’ solo under the Friday Night Lights comes in the middle of the second movement of the Jacket Band

The Llano Freshman and Junior Varsity teams opened up their seasons this past Thursday and all three teams came away with impressive victories. The Llano Freshman Black and Junior Varsity teams hosted the Hondo Owls at Jacket Stadium while the Llano Freshman Orange team traveled to Lake Travis to take on the Cavaliers.
HONDO—It was as perfect as a haircut that satisfies your mother. It was as dominant as a Queen vs. a pawn. It was as impressive as a defense which holds the opponent to 97 yards in offense, and Llano High did that in a 33-0 harassment of the Owls on the final Friday night of August.
By Art Dlugach Gridirons of high schools and colleges were in use for a full weekend, August 29-September 2. Let’s hopscotch our way across the country checking out a few happenings. Llano High’s JV beat Hondo, 34-22; the freshman team known as Black downed the Owls, 27-0. Listen to this: the Orange frosh walloped Lake Travis, 38-0!
By Art Dlugach SAN SABA—A pair of Llano High JV runners didn’t quite steal the show at the San Saba Invitational Cross Country Meet, August 28, but I’d say they borrowed it for a while. Isaiah Bush was about a two-iron shot in front of second place on the city’s picturesque golf course in the junior varsity competition.

This one is about two young men that will make Llano proud. Most people know that I have horses and have taken my son Thomas Murray to the Special Olympics several times.
