As the month of November quickly comes to a close, we are reminded to slow down and enjoy the everyday simplicities that surround us. The changing of the time, temperature and seasonal spirit are things that everyone can enjoy. Here at the Mason County Nutrition Program, we hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
The second playoff game of the 2018 season ended well for the Punchers on Friday night, as they defeated the Weimar Eagles 35-6 in the Area match in Buda. This game would feature the Mason defense in a prominent role, as Weimar had lots of speed behind the ball, and Mason was ready for them. During the first quarter, both teams showed that they deserved their playoff berths.

The Punchers won another game and are still playing football and likely to well into December again, the hunters all had fine weather to enjoy the outdoors and hopefully bring home some venison, and the gatherings and food were a blessing to everyone as we shared time with those are nearest and dearest to us.

Our 4th grade students did an outstanding job of planning, preparing and delivering heartfelt messages and words of support for our veterans. The ceremony was extremely touching when the 3rd grade class came out and sang God Bless the USA.

Holidays Throw Schedules Into Disarray.... I am, by all definitions, a creature of habit. I suppose much of that is dictated by this profession. There are meetings, events, happenings and gatherings, all neatly scheduled on my calendar, and all carefully planned so that I can make it from one to the other with no conflicts. It's not just the day to day schedule, I also have my hour to hour planning carefully scheduled.

Airheart, this outlet was much more than just a store. It represented Carolyn’s love of people, from clients to customers to fellow vendors.

Carpe Diem When I started school at age six, my mom thought I could read. She’d been reading the same children’s books to me for years, and I had them all memorized. I could turn the pages and say the right words, so she assumed I’d learned to read, somehow. Which is pretty much how I got through high school, later on.
In Search of Yesterdays… If there should be an appeal for volunteers to search for innocence lost, misplaced or forfeited in recent decades, sign me up. The downward spiral has been gradual, unlike Dorothy’s sudden realization--upon her arrival at Oz’s Emerald City--that she and her friends weren’t in Kansas anymore. Mired in a culture where too much information bombards daily, we’re “running out of respites,” even during holidays.
