The Mason County Chamber of Commerce & the Mason Rodeo Association cordially invite you to join us for our 53rd Annual Round-Up & Rodeo! To kick off this weekend long celebration, Dennis & Karen Townsend will be sponsoring the Mason County Team Roping on Thursday, July 6th. For more information, please contact Dennis @ 325-456-8635. On Friday July 7th, the Mason Rodeo Association will host a 4-D barrel race beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The collection of piano sheet music of the early 1900s currently on display for the month of June at the M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library was originally owned by the late Marie Jordan Leifeste of Mason, Texas. Marie was born in Plehweville (Art), Texas, in 1899. Her education began in 1908 at the Plehweville School, and she began to learn music, specifically the piano, during this time.
Wednesday, June 14, is 42 Game Day at the Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library, 410 Post Hill Street. Play will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Stribling Room. Everyone is welcome! Bring your dominoes and a partner if you can, and join in the fun.
Consuelo Samarripa, award- winning author, storyteller, folklorist, performing artist, and speaker, will be performing at the Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library as part of their special summer reading programs. Her unique storytelling style in programs includes multilingual blends woven in multicultural folktales, folklore, legends/myths, personal and historical stories.
This year, the Hill Country CattleWomen chose to donate $1000 in beef as their Beef for Father’s Day Project. As CattleWomen we have a strong ranching heritage instilled in us and handed down through the generations by our hard working Fathers. In honor of our Fathers, the Hill Country CattleWomen decided to donate beef to the Hill Country Youth Ranch in Ingram. The Hill Country Youth Ranch is a non-profit charitable corporation established in 1977.
Free summer meals at Mason ISD Cafeteria. May 30-Jun 2nd, Jun 5-8, Jun 12-15 and Jun 19-22. Breakfast served from 7:15 am - 8 am. Lunch served from 1100 am - 12 pm. This is free for all children aged 18 years and younger. The child does not have to attend Mason schools.
Grab your hats and boots and come celebrate Riata Service Organization’s Cowboy Casino Night! Riata Service Organization is kicking off its largest fundraising effort ever to benefit the Mason Clinic, culminating in an exciting night of fun and games on October 14, 2017, at Lea Lou Coop. Riata was originally formed almost seventy years ago as an auxiliary to the Mason County Hospital.
This year's camp is July 31 - August 2. 3rd - 5th Grade is from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. 6th - 9th Grade is from 10:30 a.m. - Noon. Cost is $15. Bring your cleats!!!!!
On Saturday, May the 20th, the Mason Puncher Club is having their 15th annual Puncher Club Golf tournament. This tournament is an ADULTS ONLY event. It will be an 18 hole, 4 person scramble; and, a length of string for additional help. Come sign up early - tee off will be at 1:30 (signup no later than noon, Saturday).
The Mason High School Pioneers, including Brooke Wheelock, Chet Weitz, Ethan Powell, Raegan Glentz, Sloan Townsend, and their teacher, Megan Bierschwale, are in the process of implementing a beneficial water conservation system to help our school, community, and aquifer. Our mission is to harvest rainwater in a large storage tank, which would be located near the junior high gym.

Social Club
