Where did October go? I feel like it was full speed ahead on October 1 and now the month is about over. Halloween is big for some people. I try to get a few bags of candy to hand out and then the battle is not to eat the candy before Halloween.
I have been asked to assist in the production of a new book on the late Texas Ranger Charlie Miller.
Even today I am asked on a quite regular basis ‘what can you tell me about Charlie Miller’ questions. Thus it came as no surprise to be asked to assist in this latest effort to document Ranger Miller, who died 08 December 1971.
Come enjoy a chili lunch at the Castell School/Community Building on November 2nd, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Chili with all the fixings, dessert and a drink, all for only $10.
Along with the fundraiser luncher are some raffle items (hunting knives, customized metal yard sign, gift cards, George Foreman grill).
A video produced by the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame will be on display at the Mason Square Museum as the museum officially opens its new exhibit October 31 on the life of Anna Martin.
Martin was inducted into the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame, located in Fort Worth, in 2011.
Please, mark your calendars now for Sunday, November 3rd; this year’s date for the parish’s Annual Enchilada Mexican Dinner. Serving will be 11am to 2pm in The Hall located on the church grounds.
You may “Eat In” and enjoy visiting with other diners or you may request “Take Out” as you follow the Drive Thru line.
Each plate is $10.00 and the meal consists of enchiladas, beans, rice, salad, tea and a dessert.
The Mason County Republican Women are hosting David Heckert on Tuesday October 29th at the Mason County Library in the Stribling Room. Mr. Heckert’s topic is: A Border Security Update. The program is scheduled for 7 PM to 9 PM in order for more people to be free to attend.

The ladies of the Comanche Creek golf course met October 21st for a fun filled cross country scramble.
Following golf, we met for our annual meeting & salad luncheon at the beautiful new home of Cindy & Craig Henrich.

Buddy’s Animal Rescue is holding their third annual KRISPY KREME fundraiser. Buddy’s is a 501c3 nonprofit rescue dedicated to bottle feeding orphaned kittens and puppies and spaying/neutering/fostering dogs from our local pound.
