Thank you to all the Friends of the Library who worked so hard to put on the Annual Book and Bake Sale—what a success! Thanks, also, to everyone who donated books and came to the sale! Isn’t living in Mason great? Just a reminder that Christian author Karen Witemeyer will be giving a book talk and signing books in the Stribling Room this Saturday at 2:00.
Search me The internet, as you’re already aware if you were born anytime since the Civil War, has revolutionized the way we shop. According to a statistic I just made up, Americans make almost 70% of their purchases online. This is not necessarily a good thing. As Ben Franklin once said, “It’s hard to get a credit card refund on interstate chickens bought with PayPal.” Or words to that effect. I really enjoy my coffee. You could call me a “Coffee holic!” Hot in the morning and iced in the afternoon and PM. Not much on creamers, nor am I a light brew. I like the STRONG Bold blends. Beef and Vegetable Stuffed Peppers With spring showers bring April flowers (and vegetables). This dish is a delectable mixture of beef and vegetables. I am always looking for new ground beef recipes and this one was not a disappointment. The fresh vegetables really add something. 2 large Bell peppers, tops removed and seeded ½ pound ground beef 4 oz.

This past weekend was full of activities that provided some enrichment to those who had an opportunity to participate. The Second Chamber Music Festival brought some high quality classical entertainment to town, the Spring ArtWalk was a great success with many local and visiting artists showing a very broad range of talent and vision, The Seaquist House ...

April. Nice word. In other languages, too. Abril. Avril. Aprile. Dubna. Huhtikuu. Nice month. Nice flowers. Celestials. Indian Paintbrush. Gaillardia. Evening Primrose. Coreopsis. Bluebonnets galore. We knew it would happen. All that rain. We knew the bluebonnets would bloom profusely. Take a drive. Quick. Before they’re gone. Out James River Road. From Highway 87 all the way to the Llano River. Or the Llano Highway all the way to Llano. Or Red Lane. Or drive around town. Wow. Those wildflowe ...
