The Fredericksburg Minor Little League Softball Allstars team took home the District 26 championship Wednesday night, in Fredericksburg, with awin over Blanco 13-3.
The girls played really well going undefeated throughout the tournament with wins over Burnet 11-3, Kerrville 22-4, and Blanco 13-2.

4th of July
For our Post's 4th of July celebration we will have a float in the Round Up parade. All veterans are invited to ride the float.
The next post meeting will be held on July 19th at 6:30 p.m., at Post on Post Hill Street.

All of our WWII veterans will be honored as the parade’s Grand Marshal this year.
Immediately following the parade the WWII veterans will be dropped off at the new Grunts Frozen Yogurt shop on the square by the Chamber of Commerce for a free ice cream.
Sterling Sam Jordan was inducted into the U. S. Navy at the Navy Recruiting Station in San Antonio, Texas. His father, Ernest Max Jordan, had told him to get into anything but the infantry (Army World War I). Sterling volunteered for the Navy.
He was sent by train to the Naval Training Center, San Diego, California on October 4, 1944 for his basic training.
Night in Old Fredericksburg will present the new Sommerzeit Festival on Saturday, July 16, in conjunction with the Gillespie County Pari-Mutuel Horse Races held that Saturday and Sunday, July 16-17.
Sommerzeit is German for “Summer Time.” According to the host Gillespie County Fair and Festivals Association, this event celebrates the cultures of the Hill Country, and features a Mexican Mercado, Cowboy Grill, and Night in Old Fredericksburg Biergarten.
Mason’s Scarlet Punchers, those intrepid women “of a certain age” who absolutely insist on enjoying life “to the max,” took their show on the road in June as they journeyed to Fredericksburg for lunch at Pastabella. Judging by some of the comments overheard (“I’d like to take off all my clothes and roll around in this sauce,” “let’s come back here again immediately,” etc.), we deemed the outing a huge success.
