Mason County 4-H attended the Callahan Fun Shoot on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Three members of the 4-H Shooting Sports entered the competition and all three came home with ribbons. The results are as follows:

More than 50,000 high-skilled jobs will be available over the next few years without enough graduates to fill them.

The Mason Garden Club will hold a dedication ceremony for the Blue Star Memorial Marker that the club is installing at Fort Mason located at 204 West Spruce Street on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at 11 a.m. The public is invited.

The past week has been wonderful in regard to rain and happy gardens! Along with the green vegetation that flourishes after a series of rainstorms, there is usually a runoff of the “spare” water. Sometimes, when enough water comes down over a short time, the runoff hits the river and causes the river to rise.
This has been another great week at Art, Texas, USA. The leaves are almost under control at my house. Our kids and grandkids spent Sunday with us. We had to use the wipers on the way to church this morning. Life is good.

Chilies Rellenos Casserole
This is a great recipe when you have company coming. You can make this ahead time. I think you could even freeze it. Its one my favorite recipes my sister makes. Serve it with a side salad (I like to serve it with a guacamole salad) and some tortillas and you’ll have a complete meal.
