Mason Elementary is teaming up with Headstart to have their annual PK/Kinder and Headstart Roundup (pre-registration) on Monday, February 29, 2016 in the Elementary/Junior High Library from 2:30—5:30 pm. If your child will be attending Pre-Kindergarten, HeadStart, or Kindergarten NEXT school year (August 2016), please come anytime between 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm to the library to register your child.
The Mason schools were transformed for Puncher College Week. We decorated the hallways, doors and lockers in anticipation of the big event. There were posters, banners, flags and pennants from just about every college and technical school you have ever heard of! Students in grades PK-8 viewed a Powerpoint to introduce possible choices and reasons for continuing with their education after high school.
The Supreme Court of Texas Children’s Commission convened in Austin on Friday, February 12th for the first of its meetings of 2016. Texas Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman, Chair of the Children’s Commission, announced the appointment of Judge Rob Hofmann as the new Vice Chair.
The Supreme Court established the Children’s Commission in 2007 with the goal of improving the child welfare system in Texas and bringing attention to this important issue through judicial leadership.
AUSTIN, TX – Austin-area artist Sabine Zimmer will be featured at the 2016 People’s Gallery exhibition, an annual, year long visual art exhibition at Austin City Hall. The People’s Gallery is a program of the City of Austin Economic Development Department/Cultural Arts Division. Now in its 12th year, the People’s Gallery is designed to showcase regional artistic endeavors and to encourage public dialog, understanding, and enjoyment of visual art.

Next Tuesday, March 1, 2016, is the date of the Texas Primary Election. I've actually already availed myself of the option to cast my vote early, so Tuesday is just a date on the calendar rather than an appointment with destiny for me.
I urged my employees to head on over to the polls early and get their voting completed.

Rep. Austin Habecker, a junior at Mason High School, competed at the State UIL Congress Meet held in the State Capitol in Austin on January 11-13.
UIL Congress is an event that is comprised of two days of debate, with students following parliamentary procedure to debate on proposed bills. The students debate for a full seven hours on the first day of competition, in order to earn a chance to compete for the championship in the final chamber on the second day of competition.
