You've Got to Follow the List! Any project requires planning. And, the first step in that planning is to make a list of what is necessary to successfully complete the project. And, in order to be done well, the list should be prioritized, putting the most important elements at the beginning. Much like the steps in a recipe, if you fail to follow everything, just as it's organized, the final product doesn't quite work the way it should.
We want to thank the Mason Study Club for their continuing hard work on behalf of the library! They presented us with a generous contribution made possible by their Chili on the Square event. Of course, we need to thank all the people that ate that chili, too—it was delicious, wasn’t it? DVDs: 800 Words Season 1 The Edge of Seventeen Arrival Priceless Middle School Tora!
The hole story There’s a website called ‘the dodo.’ I was not aware of this site until recently, which is kind of surprising, since it’s one of those sites dedicated to whining about stuff. Nothing cheers me up like whiners. They kind of legitimize my sense of what’s important, because they complain about such silly things.
The more ? calls I get, the more I miss the rotary phones. One didn’t have to push 1-2-3 or etc.. Most calls that were called in error was due to your finger. Then, when you did make a missed dialed call, you apologized for the bother. If you did get a call that you didn’t want to take, you just left the phone off the hook.
Wonders of the World?... With the rancor running rampant in the world today, it’s remarkable that the Seven Wonders of the World are staying stitched, at least so far. This day, I cite three personal “wonderments,” none of which rises to the level of minutia. They have long been bewildering to me.
The weather is very confusing. It is not yet spring but I saw fruit trees blooming, red buds in full bloom, and even a wisteria vine in full bloom. If you believe thunder in February will predict cool or even freezing weather in April, winter is not over. Lent begins today.
Hyacinth. Snowbell. Daffodil. Celestial. Quince. Narcissus. (Aka paperwhite.) These are a few of our favorite things. And they’re blooming. Thanks to warmer temperatures. And more is on the way. Flowers, that is. In spite of cold temperatures. Bluebonnets are coming up and out. Ornamental cherry sitting pretty. Preparing the pathway to Spring. Busy birds all about. Cedar waxwings flying in. And out. And in. And out. A most remarkable bird. They stop for water. Then hit the road. Or sky, to be ...
Walking in the Creek,,, Quality Entertainment! This weekend, after Daddy and I had made our grocery run, he asked if I wanted to rock hunt in the creek with him. I looked at the radar and worried that we might get caught in some rain; but, finally decided that we should take our chances and head on out to the granite bed of Katemcy Creek. This trip was a bit different than the ones I made as a child.
Just a reminder—don’t miss these two great events! We’ll be doing another collaborative community painting with all new items in it on Tuesday, February 28th. Everyone is welcome—you don’t have to have any experience or artistic talent to do this, and it’s fun! Vickie will be in the Stribling Room until 3:00 p.m.
The eagle has landed - hard Ever since Ben Franklin went out in a thunderstorm and flew a kite in 1752, thereby getting himself zapped by lightning, affordable energy has been an issue. Ben managed to ‘collect’ a ‘charge of electricity’ in a ‘Leyden jar,’ but every time he took it out to ‘show’ it to someone, his ‘stutter’ got ‘worse,’ and eventually his brain activity deteriorated to the point that he had to be put in charge of the House Committee for P ...
