The Art United Methodist Church will have regular Sunday morning services on May 31. We are all ready to return to church on Sunday. Pastor Tim and his helpers have done a great job putting services on YouTube, but we are ready to be in church again. There will not be Sunday School on May 31.
Grandson John is graduating from high school Friday night.

The Class of 2020 - Changes!
This year's graduating class members have been to state competition in football, golf, tennis, basketball, UIL academic events, UIL performance events,,,, they've been in all of them and they've excelled. As spring events began to increase, there was even a hope that they, along with their Mason High School classmates, might be able to win the UIL Lone Star Award for a third time.
And then, they went on spring break, and never returned.

LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF Mathew 22:39
Dear Gerry,
When my husband and I moved to Mason almost ten years ago, I was able to say that I felt safe and truly at home for the first time in my life. After living most of my life in South Africa where everyone lives behind high walls and fences with security gates and burglar alarms, it was a good feeling.
I felt so safe here that sometimes I didn’t bother to check if the doors were locked before retiring at night and ...

A Book by a Back-Up…
“No one is an idol to his valet.” Historian/writer Thomas Carlyle so contended two centuries ago.
In one case dating back 60+ years, Carlyle would have been “dead wrong” about a couple of Brownwood High School athletes. Lawrence Elkins--the “idol”--re-wrote dozens of records in four sports, dazzled at Baylor in football and might have re-written National Football League stats if injuries hadn’t “done him in.”
His “valet”--a year behind him--s ...
Firecracker Shrimp Packets
I grill pretty much year-round, not just because it is healthy, but I really enjoy grilling. One of the things I enjoy about it is that I can sit on my patio or the river, with friends and family and relax.
I hope everyone has a GREAT Memorial Day weekend.
Congratulations to our graduates. It is a different year for them. And, it is a different time for parents and family. Our grandson John will graduate on the 29th from Texas Leadership Charter Academy in San Angelo. At first we were told there would be no graduation. Now, there is graduation.
So, Where Do We Go From Here???
I've been released from quarantine and identified as "Recovered" since last Thursday afternoon. I still took a couple of days to get everything picked up at home after two weeks of isolation, and spent my first full day back in the office on Monday.
