Have you given up on something you asked GOD for? In Matthew, chapter 24, Jesus tells a story about a woman who asked an unjust judge for justice. The judge was not a GOD fearing man and did not regard mankind either. But, because she would wear him down, he answered her plea.
What do you do in the morning when you wake up? Do you swing into full gear, preparing yourself for the day? Rushing around, trying to listen to the news, your kids, and your brain at the same time, catching a little bit of everything, and fly out the door?
Scholars are constantly changing their view concerning the Earth’s age. Evidence of Noah’s Flood (to distinguish it from other local floods) that covered the earth is no longer considered a myth by many geologists and scholars. In fact, the Big Flood is scientifically proven to have happened. One of the big questions is, “Doesn’t it take millions of years to form rock and rock layers.” Bodie Hodge and Ken Ham wrote, “A Flood of Evidence.” That book has debunked the humanist’s ...
My Daddy was a great fisherman. He always knew where to go, what bait to use and what time of the day to fish. We would go fishing in the same boat and he would catch two or three fish to my one. Why was that? Daddy always had a strategy; knew the structure of where we were fishing and the most likely bait to use.
Most people think they stand a chance of going to hell because of their sins and/or the sin of Adam and Eve. I was taught that we have to tell GOD we are sorry for our sins to be forgiven. I was also taught to go to a priest in a confessional. Then I read about the day JESUS died on the cross in a King James Version bible, and “Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
Ephesians 4:11 “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers…” He (Jesus) “gave” (bestowed, supplied, appointed, committed, set). Jesus is the One who appoints men and gifts them for this office. They are not to call themselves to it. “Some” - Jesus appoints selected individuals to these offices.
Have you made ‘time’ into an idol? Last week I discussed how King Saul disobeyed God by failing to wait for Samuel to arrive to offer up a burnt offering before the battle. Saul said that he had to force himself to make the offering in Samuel’s place because Samuel was late.
Senate Panel Conducts Hearings on School Violence, Safety A panel of Texas Senate members on June 11 and 12 received input about ways to improve security on public school campuses. The committee heard ideas regarding enhanced control of campus access and improved safety measures such as security cameras. San Antonio ISD Police Chief Joe Curiel told the committee that police presence works as a deterrent and preventative measure, and that increasing positive interactions between officers a ...
Eph 6:2-4 “Honor thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” Today we will skip ahead in our study of Ephesians, since it is applicable to Father’s Day.
All of us are in a different place in our spiritual journey. There are those running from God, those seeking God, and those longing to serve God. Once you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior you begin a process called sanctification, where you start to conform your life and will to that of Christ.
