Helping to kick off the new school year and fall sports seasons are three upcoming events to get Eagle fans cheering.
Two-a-day practice for High School Volleyball begins Thursday, August 1st and all former Lady Eagle players are invited to test their game against this year’s team in the annual Alumni Game on Friday, August 2nd at 6pm in the LBJHS Gym.
The Willow City Community Club will meet Friday, August 2, at 6:45 p.m. for the Annual Family Night Celebration at the Willow City School Building / Community Center, located at 2501 Ranch Road 1323.
Special invitation to come is extended to all Willow City area neighbors and to all former Nebo School and Willow City School students and teachers, and their descendants.

School officials have released athletic schedules for the fall sports seasons which indicate that Homecoming 2019 is set for Friday, September 27th. The Lady Eagles will face Florence in District 25-3A Freshmen, Junior Varsity and Varsity Volleyball at 4, 5 and 6pm. The Varsity Eagles will host Florence in a non-District Football match-up at 7:30pm; Johnson City competes in District 13-3A Division II in Football.
The Fredericksburg Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas invites all members of the community to get out of the heat and “Have a Ball!” This is a family event. Bring the children. The Administrative Staff at JCISD presented Service Pins at their Annual End-of-Year Appreciation Breakfast to staff who reached benchmark years of service in 2018-2019. The breakfast – prepared by the District Child Nutrition Department and served by members of the Board of Trustees – is an annual tradition to close out the school year.
Christ Lutheran Church will host their family-style Vacation Bible School June 10th – 14th from 9:30am to 11:30am. All ages, from babies to adults are invited to attend.
