Llano Recycling Opportunities, located at 1209 N. Bessemer Ave., celebrates 53 years in operation. The recycling center has had a positive impact on the Llano community since opening on September 7, 1966. The Llano News will publish a future article about the center and what the community can do to help it.

Llano Wild Game Dinner Driving past the John L Kuykendall Event Center and Arena on Saturday night would cause someone to wonder what was happening out there. Cars were parked nearly to the soccer fields and once inside it was crowded quarters, even for the 25,000 square foot room. Not only was the Event Room full, the fully enclosed, air conditioned concession area of the arena was packed with folks lined up for the evening fare. A couple of things, we are going to have a hectic weekend coming up and hope everyone is ready for it. Motorcycles will be rolling in all week with the big parade on Saturday at noon through downtown Llano. I will be broadcasting it live on https://www.facebook.com/TexasHillCountry/ where a million people will be able to hear and view it.
Llano offers some of the most beautiful scenic views in the Texas Hill Country. With lush, rolling hills to clifftop views, riding in and around Llano is picturesque. Returning to Llano for the second year is the largest women’s biker parade in the country: Ladies in Leather. The group was created to bring women together through sisterhood and unity. Originally formed as a different organization, Ladies in Leather is a new chapter in the female motorcycling community.
The Llano Cultural & Art Alliance’s mission is to promote and stimulate participation in the arts and cultural events in Llano to citizens, plus regional, state, national and international tourists. Their vision is to make Llano a cultural destination for tourists, encourage and promote art and culture in schools, entice artists to move to Llano, and to improve performing venues in the city of Llano. Texas author and songwriter W. C. Jameson is among the 21 writers to be inducted into the Colorado Authors Hall of Fame on September 14 in a ceremony in Denver. The organization is dedicated to recognizing and preserving the history of the accomplishments of past and present authors who have created and published books in or about Colorado.  A resident of Llano, Jameson lived in Colorado for six years while pursuing writing projects and engaging in the music scene.
