And our new events like Indian dancing coming in June, the Ladies in Leather Motorcycle Rally and the Peddler Craft Show in September, the longhorn show coming in October and next April, Youth Bull Riding this August and the Dinner Theater in November.
Prosecutors would have another sentencing option for first time drunk driving offenders under a bill approved by the Senate Criminal Justice Committee Wednesday. The current system, which focuses on punishment over treatment, doesn't serve the cause of public safety well, said the bill's sponsor San Antonio Senator José Menéndez. His bill would allow for deferred adjudication, a type of probation, for a first time DWI offense under some circumstances.

The Llano County Commissioners Court met at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 6 to discuss and approve the resolution regarding the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Risk Analysis Branch Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) future map updates. FEMA sent three maps to the Court earlier this year to be considered. The main objection of the Commissioners Court is that these maps do not take the October 16, 2018 flood or the drift line surveys into consideration.
Dan Dalager, representative of Cox Paving, gave the City Council an update on the paving of the streets of Llano. He said they are about 60% finished with the paving. He explained that some people have expressed concern that it looks like some of the corners are not being paved and that there is a car that was paved around.
Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area has been granted a $52,500 High Demand Job Training grant to match the $56,900 in funds provided by the Marble Falls, Burnet, and Llano Economic Development Corporations. This partnership will facilitate and support the training of licensed plumbers and electricians in the construction trades, certified medical assistants in the healthcare industry, as well as bookkeeping, accounting and audit clerks throughout Burnet and Llano counties.

Much Needed Training Coming
On Friday morning, the Llano, Marble Falls, and Burnet Economic Development Corporations came together at River City Grill in Marble Falls to accept a grant from Texas Workforce Solutions for $52,500 for High Demand Job Training in the area. Paul Fletcher, Executive Director of Texas Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area was on hand with a number of RCA Board members and personnel.
Experiencing therapy as a child contributes to academic achievement by equipping them with communication, emotional, and behavioral skills. Developing these necessary skills helps support children to be successful in life. In an effort to assist students who are struggling emotionally or behaviorally, Llano ISD hired Christi Lundby as a mental health counselor.
