FREDERICKSBURG, TEXAS - Oktoberfest, the family-oriented German event taking place in the center of Fredericksburg, is poised to again attract 1,400 volunteers and 25,000 visitors in its 38th year.
As a result, the oom-pah-pah echo of 37 previous years will carry over in the hearts and minds of people who have made the event an annual tradition, many who traversed hundreds of miles to attend.

Hill Country Astronomers (HCA) will meet at 6:30 PM, Monday, October 1, in the HEB Activity Room at Hill Country University Center in Fredericksburg.
Richard Nugent will present a program on occultation techniques, recent occultation discoveries and how to observe, time, and record occultations using amateur equipment.
Nugent is the Executive Secretary of the International Occultation Timing Association (IOTA) and has been studying occultations since 1990.
Harpeth Rising…They’re coming back, and cooler than ever. As soon as their last show was over at the Odeon folks were asking “When are you bringing them back?”. The trio will perform at the Odeon theater Saturday October 13 at 7:00 PM.
Those who made the first show will remember their crazy awesome skills, but they’ll also remember the fantastic music, and the utterly entertaining great time they provided.

The Mason ISD Flu shot clinic will be on Friday, Oct. 5th from 9-12 and 1-3 p.m. at school.
Flu shot forms will NOT be mailed out. If you want your child to receive the flu vaccine, you can pick up the forms at the offices or print them off from our school website.
Permission slips are due by Friday, September 28th.
