Hello! My name is Elizabeth White, and I will be joining the team at Mason County News for this summer before I move north this fall to attend university. I am thrilled to both use and build upon my skillsets through this opportunity and I look forward to assisting with both editing and writing.
When I was a freshman my father, Tim, and I moved to Mason from Southwest Colorado, where I grew up.
The newly created organization, Friends of the Mason County Courthouse, took their final steps toward the establishment of a single, focused fundraising source to help in the restoration and rebuilding of the beloved symbol of Mason County. A benefit for Viatrice Guerrero has been set for March 27th, 1pm at the Pavilion to help with medical and monthly expenses. Viatrice was diagnosed with acute sigmoid diverticulitis in January, and has had one surgery and will have another in July. It will take five months for her to recuperate.
Volunteers are needed to help with softball tournaments from June 12th through November 27th. The events are being held to raise money for two local families and to help rebuild of the Mason County Courthouse. The tournaments will take place every other weekend. ASA Rules will apply, over the fence is out, 55 minute game times, and the fee is $200.
Are you ready for some spring ball? The Mason Youth Baseball & Softball Association would like to invite everyone to their upcoming Opening Day Ceremonies, annual brisket fundraiser and games to be held on Saturday, March 27th. Come early and hungry and stay all day.
Opening ceremonies will begin at 9:30 a.m.
ABILENE, TX- More than 1,300 students were named to the Fall 2020 Dean's List at Abilene Christian University. To qualify for the Dean's Honor Roll, students must be registered for 12 or more credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.6 or higher. The following local students made the list:

Finn is a super cute fellow with wonderful fun and bouncy puppy behavior. He is still in need of some training, of course, but he will keep you laughing along the way. At first he may be timid, but he warms up to his happy self pretty quickly! Finn is 7 to 8 months young and weighs about 27 pounds.
