The MCF is now accepting applications for our fall grant cycle. In the past 13 years, the MCF has awarded over 135 grants for a total of over $350,000. We have provided grants for upgrades in medical services in our community, area fire departments, school programs, city beautification, and many other areas. I hope you were blessed on Friday with rain. My gauge showed 3.75 inches. We were so happy to see the ground soak up the rain. Labor Day is September 2. We don’t do much on this holiday since we are retired, but it is nice to have a chill day. There will be a covered dish lunch on September 8 following the morning worship to celebrate Grandparent’s Day. Mark your calendars on September 22.
The Mason Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 8554 will be selling raffle tickets for the coming fall season at the Mason Feed Store. Enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year is underway for Kingdom Kids, River of Life’s Mom’s Day Out program. Kingdom Kids mission is to provide a loving, Christ-centered environment where children are nurtured and the mother’s needs are met. Daily activities for children ages 3 months to 4 years old include Bible and age appropriate pre-school lessons, music time, crafts, and outside play plus added events throughout the school year. The Annual Fort Mason Golf Association Fundraiser will be held Saturday, August 24th @ the Ft. Mason Community Building. The golf course is “member owned”, so this fundraiser is very important financially for daily operations. The day will begin with a 9 hole scramble @ 2:00 pm (call clubhouse by noon to enter as individual or team), followed by a silent auction beginning @ 5:00, dinner @ 6:00 (catered by Boondocks) followed by a live auction and drawing.

It has been party time at the Ceynowa house. We celebrated John’s birthday. Then we celebrated my birthday. And, we did an early celebration of our 50th anniversary. Lots of memories and old stories shared. We have enjoyed every moment but I am looking forward to quiet time and less sweets.
The Llano Country Opry will host “A Salute To Conway Twitty And Loretta Lynn” with Tayla Lynn and Tre Twitty on Saturday, August 17, at the Lantex Theater in downtown Llano, Texas. The Mason Garden Club will host its Annual Membership Drive and Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the Stribling Room of the Mason County M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library. This is the time that the club invites the community to come and see what garden club is all about.
