“Boss” Lion Jim Heidelberg gaveled the weekly meeting of the Mason Lions Club to order on December 5. Forty-two Lions Club members were present at the meeting along with five guests.
“Boss” Jim recognized two Mason High seniors in attendance. Reagan Palacio told the members she plans to attend college and major in nutrition with the goal of becoming a registered dietician.

Three members of the Hobart College football were named to the D3football.com All-East teams which were announced yesterday. Seniors Shane Sweeney (Geneva/Phelps, N.Y.) and Rio Schmidt (Mason/Mason, Texas) earned a spot on the second team and first-year Kyle Hackett (Worcester Academy/Charlton, Mass.) garnered third team recognition.

Boys from 9 child residential and foster homes came to Camp Gene Ashby in Mason county Friday afternoon, December 1st. The Mason Study Club held their monthly meeting last Wednesday and were treated to a delicious luncheon hosted by Deanna Handlin, Linda Kesler, Brenda Rue, and Corrine Wright.
Sherrie Clarkson, Study Club member and Mason’s own Texas Master Gardener, gave the Club a presentation on Texas Master Gardener certification. Once accepted into the Master Gardener program, 50 hours of training and classes are required.
Riata held their membership meeting on Tuesday, November 28th at the River of Life meeting/flex room. Hostesses were Mona Lois Schmidt, Rebekah Whitworth and Sherrie Patrick. Pam Scott introduced Pastor Dave Benefield from the River of Life Church. Pastor Dave gave a very informative presentation and slide show detailing their mission work at Chipas, Mexico; in Puyipa, Santa Cruz and the surrounding villages.
