When I first saw the picture of that two-toned 1957 Ford hardtop convertible with its sleek lines and graceful fins, I thought it had to be the most beautiful car my eyes had ever beheld. The problem was that my Dad had no use for Fords. He was a dyed in the wool Chevy man—true blue through and through.
The news yesterday said Christmas day is the day when there are the most heart attack deaths in the whole year. They said it’s stress, combined with alcohol and cold weather that constricts our blood vessels. How ironic is that? Jesus came that we could have life and on his birthday, people are dying from heart attacks.
I know many people are sad during this time of year, including me, and I find it very disturbing.
Many folks call Matthew 1 the Forgotten Chapter. Matthew starts with the Patriarch Abraham and goes down to Joseph. Note it does not say Joseph the father of Jesus in verse 16. It reads, “…and Jacob, the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called the Christ.” Here is a long list of names starting with Abraham, on to David and ending with Jesus.
After my father retired from building churches and schools all over Mexico, he returned to the little town of his birth in the foothills of Chihuahua’s Sierra Madre. A man once told me that he knew Christians were losing the battle in the USofA just by laws that have been passed and the elections. My reply was, “No we did not lose, America lost.” God will have the final word and that final word is that everyone is going to live forever; issue is that we are not going to be all in the same place.
As we continue our study of Galatians chapter 3:21-29. Lest we start to get a negative view of God’s Law, Paul asks in vs. 21, “Is the Law then against the promises of God? God forbid! If there had been a law that could have given life, then righteousness should have come through the Law.

A farmer and his wife were driving to town in their pickup truck. The farmer was sitting behind the steering wheel in silence; his wife was sitting on the other side of the cab against the door.
After several miles the wife said, Jed, when we first got married we didn't sit this far apart.
