Blanco County Youth Stock Show The 82nd Blanco County 4-H and FFA Youth Show begins Wednesday, January 13 at 4:30 p.m. at the Blanco County Show Barn in Johnson City. January Homeschool Day at the Science Mill The Science Mill will host two Homeschool Days this month: January 13 and 21, 2021. Fizz, foam, bubble, bang—mix things up with Careers in Chemistry at January’s Homeschool Days!
Micaela McDonald has officially begun her work as the Library Director of the Johnson City Library. She replaces Maggie Goodman who retired in December. McDonald was promoted from the position of library assistant that is now occupied by Miranda Vega. McDonald has been employed at the library since 2019 as an assistant librarian.
The January 16 meeting of the Highland Lakes Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas will be a Zoom meeting, with sign-in starting at 1:00pm. Registration is required; use the link below. The Johnson City Womans Civic Club members celebrated the Christmas season together December 14 on Zoom videoconferencing with a program of Reindeer Games and a creative version of the story “ The Night Before Christmas,” led by Diane Burke and Ingrid Moursand, respectively. Karen Prather reported that the JCWCC collected member donations of $380 for the November Service Project.
Saturday January 16, 2021 is the date for the 12th Annual Blanco County Youth Show Salsa Contest.  Winner will have year-long bragging rights as the best Salsa maker in Blanco County and will receive an engraved BOSS Mug by Creative Awards in Fredericksburg.
