The Llano Special Olympians competed in a three-day Area 13 Bowling Competition with over 1,300 athletes in Austin from Nov. 3-5.
Llano was well represented with nine students participating in every age group. The athletes trained for two months beginning in September.
This year the Yellow Jacket team took home four gold medals from Selena Blaise, James Burke, Jake Yocum, and Angelo Crofts.
Bronze medals were earned by Mary Shaffer, Mitch Dunn, Landon Larson and Meloni Lamar.

Galveston resident Bob Johnson suffered a massive heart attack Saturday morning while gold prospecting with friends and family on the Llano River. Bob was a member of the Round Rock Chapter of the Gold Prospectors Association of America, which was in Llano for one of its twice-annual campout and prospecting trips when the incident occurred.
