This past Saturday was a big day for the Llano Red Top Jail, beginning at 10 a.m. with tours of Llano’s oldest bed and breakfast. Manned 100 percent by volunteers from the Friends of the Llano Red Top Jail, the tours take about 20-30 minutes depending on the participation from those taking the tour. From the “booking room” to the “throne room,” to the “maximum security cells,” the Red Top Jail is full of history.
The Llano Economic Development Corporation could look at the feasibility of a second arena or an amphitheater among projects in the next fiscal year. Joe Randerson served in the United States Air Force in World War II, in the 2nd Fighter Squadron. “I flew P51 Mustangs. The Llano County Sheriff's Office reports that a drive by shooting occurred Wednesday morning. There will be a four class Llano High School reunion held Saturday. The LHS classes of 1950, 1951, 1952 and 1953, along with anyone who wishes to join them, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at the LISD community building. The group will meet, have a barbecue lunch, tour the O’Henry school building and dismiss about 2:30 p.m., said Lane Tow, co-organizer of the reunion.
