The Mason ISD has been using an app called SchoolWay to send out information to the students, parents and community over the last few years. Welcome summer. We have missed out on most of the rain at our house. We have also missed out on the hail and wind damage. Our thoughts and prayers are with our pastor, Tim Fahrenthold, and our delegate, Stephen Mutschink, as they travel to Corpus Christi for the Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. It’s that time again! The kids are out of school and hunting for something to do. Don’t let their reading skills slide this summer--they can read and have fun, too! Read to Swim begins on Monday, June 3, at the Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library, 410 Post Hill St.
In May, children read about a greedy pug and learned about carrot seeds and how carrots grow. They planted seeds to take home, made a gift and card for their mothers, and constructed a bobble-head puppy that looked a lot like Pig the Pug! Come Monday, June 3, to hear a story about Dad and stay to make a special gift especially for him for Father’s Day.  Storytime is held Mondays at 10:30 A.M.
Mason’s Scarlet Punchers, those intrepid women “of a certain age,” who absolutely insist on enjoying life to the fullest, or at least making it out of our pajamas by noon, had a wonderful gathering in May at the community room of Silverleaf Apartments. Shirley Siler hosted 8 Scarlet Punchers for a potluck lunch, and, as usual, the food was delicious, the fellowship was delightful, and the prizes were outstanding.
