The descendants of Johann Ernst Heinrich Christian Franz Jordan are invited to honor this Republic of Texas pioneer on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at 2:30 p. m. at the Art West Cemetery. The William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas is presenting a ceremony honoring the memory of Ernst Jordan. The mission of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas is to honor the memory and spirit of men and women who settled and maintained the independence of Texas.
Memorial Day is May 27. This is the day designated to honor those veterans who died in wartime service to their country. Take a moment to remember them. The cemetery will have many flags at graves. There will be a special program Sunday afternoon, June 2, at the Art West Cemetery to honor Ernst Jordan. Men’s choir will practice at the Art United Methodist Church on Tuesday, May 28, at 6. Last week there was an error in the date of the Eckert Reunion.
Please join us as we continue the tradition of remembering our fallen heroes on Memorial Day. The American Legion Fort Mason Post #285 invite veterans, families and the public to attend the Memorial Day Salute to be held on May 27, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the Mason County Veterans Memorial on the Courthouse Lawn. Memorial Day originally called Decoration Day, was founded as a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nations service.
Pig is a greedy and selfish Pug. He has all the bouncy balls, bones, and chew toys a dog could ever want, but he refuses to share with a new friend.  Little does he know that being greedy has its consequences.  Follow Pug as he learns to share in Pig the Pug by Aaron Blabey, the story for Monday, May 20th. Storytime is held Mondays at 10:30 A.M.

At tonight’s specially called park Board meeting, the difficult decision to postpone Frontier Days was made. Recent rains have compromised the Boards ability to perform necessary maintenance to Park grounds & the rodeo arena. The event will be rescheduled for later in the year.

The regular monthly meeting of the Mason Garden Club will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. at 2 p.m. in the Stribling Room of the Mason County M. Beven EckertMemorial Library. Guest speaker will be Brenda Kothmann, owner of The Petal Patch in Mason. She will give a program on “Flower Designs” and will demonstrate some of her creative flower design techniques. Visitors are always welcome.
