Announced here in the Mason News three weeks ago; The Odeon Preservation Association has kicked-off the last major project of its 25 year journey to renovate The Odeon Theater. Beginning this weekend - NEW, MODERN, COMFORTABLE theater seating and an updated sound system will be installed! These two key projects mark the conclusion of 25 years of commitment, focus and hard work from EVERYONE in Mason and “Friends of The Odeon” from all over Texas, the US and around the world.
The Odeon theater in Mason, Texas presents two great Texas performers together on-stage June 22 at 7:00PM. Radney Foster and Darden Smith present their Songs-Books-Jokes and Tears performance. Between them, Radney Foster and Darden Smith have released over two dozen albums, written hundreds of songs, played thousands of shows and logged millions of miles getting there and back.
Enrollment for the 2019 Summer Program is underway for Kingdom Kids, River of Life’s Mom’s Day Out program. Kingdom Kids mission is to provide a loving, Christ-centered environment where children are nurtured and the mother’s needs are met. Summer activities for children ages 3 months to 5th grade include age appropriate Bible stories, music time, crafts, baking, and recreation time. This summer we will be offering (2) three week sessions for ages 3 months – 5th grade.
Fun, constantly changing workouts to bust boredom and keep your body guessing. You will get the benefits of muscle building, toning and cardio in one. We focus on burning excess body fat, developing lean muscle tissue, improving cardiovascular endurance and building functional strength. All wrapped up in a positive, encouraging atmosphere with group camaraderie and accountability.
Ave Maria Hospice will present at the Mason County Senior Center on Thursday May 30th at 11:45am. Ave Maria Hospice is now serving Mason County. Britt Jung, owner will provide a brief presentation on our services and will be available for to answer any of your questions. We hope to see you there.
Although the threat of wildfires is currently low to moderate for much of the Lone Star State, Texans are still encouraged to be cautious when working or cooking outdoors, especially in dry areas. “We had a fairly wet winter, but parts of the area are drying out again,” Shannon Worrell, Mason County Farm Bureau president, said.

This is the week that signals summer. School is out. June is officially here. Hopefully your will have a wonderful summer. Next Sunday, June 2, there will be a ceremony at 2 at the Art West Cemetery where the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will place a marker on the grave of Ernst Jordan, a Republic of Texas pioneer. Class Meetings continue at the Art United Methodist Church.

This year’s Llano County Beef & Range Field Day is set for Tuesday, May 28, 2019. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the John L. Kuykendall Arena & Events Center, 2200 Ranch Road 152, about 1.7 miles west of Llano. The program will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. and there is no charge to the participant.
