Don’t miss the Mason Study Club’s 2nd annual afternoon tea this Sunday 3:00 at St. Paul’s Fellowship Hall. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased from any Study Club member. All proceeds benefit Mason County Library. In addition to a wonderful selection of tea and scrumptious treats, there will be fabulous raffle items available from local artists.

San Antonio has Fiesta this week and Mason has its own special party! Pawtail IV, Taste of the Mediterranean, the 4th annual Second Chance Mason Animal Rescue fundraiser, promises to be festive and best of all, this party is for a good cause. Your ticket purchase and participation in the silent auction support a worthy goal of building a no-kill shelter and adoption center that will provide for dogs and cats in need of rescue and care while awaiting their forever homes.

Harper’s 55th annual Frontier Days will be held Friday & Saturday May 17th and 18th at the Harper Community Park. This is Armed Forces weekend, so please help us celebrate our active military personnel. A weekend of activities are planned with the annual rodeo highlighting the action on Saturday night! The Harper Community Park Association is once again proud to have the Crenwelge Auto Group as our title sponsor for the weekend.
The Heart of Texas Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas congratulates Riley McBride, daughter of Heath and Larissa McBride, as recipient of the Chapter’s annual DRT Texas History Contest for 7th Grades. This year’s topic was the “Siege of Bejar”. Riley’s creative essay was also chosen as the winner of the District VIII Contest, which is comprised of 19 Chapters.
I hope your Easter weekend was a success. Our family met in two groups and it was easier on the old cook. It gives us more time to visit in a small group. We will admit that the most fun was the great grandbaby visiting. He is so precious. His smile melts your heart.
The Mason County Cancer Benefit would like to present the 2019 fundraiser, Betting on a Cure. This year’s fundraiser will be held April 27th, 2019 and will include; a fajita dinner, silent auction and a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament. The event will be held at the Mason County Community Building. The fajita dinner, by Santos Restaurant, will be served at 5:30 p.m.

The River of Life Church Youth Bake Sale is this Saturday, April 20th, from 8:00 a.m. – 12 noon at two locations – in front of Market Square and Lowe’s Market. Please stop by at either location for a variety of delicious, mouth-watering baked items. All items sold by donation only. All proceeds will go toward helping True Connection students pay for their Mission Trip in June 2019.
