Welcome Spring. The calendar says today is the first day of spring. The bluebonnets and other flowers are peeking out. I am ready for spring. The Art United Methodist Church had a wonderful song service Sunday. We were all blessed by the talents of many. Thank you to Laura Lewis for coordinating this service. Spring break is history.
Mason, Texas- Don’t miss the Festival! The Fourth Annual Mason Chamber Music Festival starts April 4th -7th and is sure to be the gem of the weekend’s festivities in Mason, Texas. The Mason Youth Baseball & Softball Association would like to invite everyone to come and enjoy our Opening Day Ceremonies this Saturday, March 23rd. This is a great tradition and a perfect way to kick off another fantastic season of Mason Youth Ball! Opening ceremonies will be begin at 9:30 a.m.
On March 16th, the Texas Rangers Heritage Center will host its 4th annual Celebrate Texas! on their grounds at 1618 East Main Street in Fredericksburg. Don’t miss the opening ceremonies! The Texas-style kickoff includes special introductions of event participants with the Traditional American Indian Society, The Old Chisholm Trail Variety Show and the Headquarters Company Rangers: cannon firing, rifle salute, Native Welcome, songs, poems and much more!!
The Study Club enjoyed a delicious lunch with samplings which will be served at the Study Club’s upcoming April 28th Tea. Hostesses included Mariana Davis, Diane Evans, Martha Henry, Johnny Heidelberg, Joan Lindley, and Pam Scott. Two presenters (in photo with Vice President Joyce Mutschink) delighted the members with stories of the Underground Railroad and jewelry with a message.
Sights, Sounds & Taste of Town! Riata Service Organization is planning a major fundraiser on Saturday, March 30th. The event is to be held at Lea Lou Co-Op on the square and will begin at 6:30. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to help Mason County First Responders (Mason County EMS & Fire Department) This theme of this year’s event is Sights, Sounds & Taste of Town!
The Mason County Republican Women will hold their bimonthly luncheon on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at 11:30 am in the Stribling Room of the Mason County Library. Members and guests will gather at 11:30 am for a meet and greet with the luncheon starting promptly at noon. It is our pleasure to have Drew Bullard as our distinguished speaker and guest.
On March 6, 2019, the Mason High School theater troupe told their story well and are on to the next level of competition at Tivy HS in Kerrville on March 22. Bidistrict plays will begin at 3 p.m. and run back-to-back. Mason’s sf PICNIC will be the sixth to perform around 7-8:00 PM.
