Four years ago, June Hall, a volunteer at the Mason County M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library, started the Mason Embroidery Group. Giving of her knowledge of embroidery and the enjoyment of sharing ideas, June is the lead in the group. The Embroidery Group meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at the library, located at 410 Post Hill Street, from 10:00 A.M.

Micah Walker, Mason County AgriLife Extension Agent for Ag and Natural Resources has announced the dates for entries to the Hill Country Commercial Heifer Show and Sale as Saturday, April 13, 2019. The show and sale will be held in October.

Mason, Texas-It’s a new day in the Texas Hill Country, and the sun has risen on a population that is turning to the sun to power its homes and businesses. A transition to use of solar energy is taking place in the Texas Hill Country. And Greater Texas Solar is primed to facilitate that process.
Greater Texas Solar began business as Mason Solar & Energy Savers in Mason, Texas in 2016.
Since Mason County received several inches of Fall rains, wildflowers should be abundant this Spring. The Mason Garden Club is sponsoring a photo contest to feature the loveliness and to get people out to explore Mason County. The contest is currently underway ending May 15th with winning photos announced in early June.
We are hoping this is winter’s last stand. I am writing this Sunday evening. The thermometer has been dropping hourly this afternoon. We have a nice fire in the fireplace. My woodpile will probably be gone by tomorrow evening. Maybe I was too vocal about not wanting to move the woodpile.

The annual spring fundraiser for the Steady Steps pre-school program will be held on March 23, 2018 both in the form of a golf tournament and dinner/auction , all at the City park. The Golf will start at 11:30 with a lunch, followed by pre-registration at noon with tee-off for the 18 hole Golf Scramble at 1:30 p.m.
