The Punchers continued their district play last Friday and racked up their second conference victory, defeating the Junction Eagles 62-6 at the Puncherdome.
The entire game was dominated by the Punchers. Their first score came midway through the first quarter on a Matt Kerr short run, followed by Kyle Montoya's PAT.
Mason County Judge Jerry Bearden issued an executive order on Monday lifting the burn ban for Mason County. Judge Bearden reminded readers that, though the burn ban has been lifted, dry conditions still persist in local fields and pastures and urged caution when dealing with any flammable situations.
Conditions will be evaluated to determine the need to issue a new burn ban as needed.

During a very long meeting of the Mason City Commission on Monday night, tensions were high during discussions about the possible formation of a Finance Committee to assist in the long term planning for the city's capital projects.
