Menard, Texas, artist, Marcy Holmes-Wheeler, has been presented the winner, Peoples Choice Award, for her gourd title "Anasazi Places and Pieces of the Past," which was recently entered in the Southwest Gourd Fine Art Show at the Kerr Arts and Cultural Center in Kerrville.
Marcy also won a second place with that same gourd and another second for a gourd made into a clock titled, "One Minute Past a Lady Bug."
The Mason County Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Office welcomes new agent Angie Daugherty to town.
Daugherty brings with her a background in product development, marketing and events, and nonprofit management. Her love and appreciation for the agricultural industry and passion for people brought her to Texas Farm Bureau.
“Mason felt like the perfect place to plant some roots,” says Daugherty.
Members of Central Texas Electric Co-op, Board District 3 (Mason County), met Tuesday, June 4th in the Richard P. Eckert Civic Center. The members were welcomed by CTEC Chief Executive Officer, Robert A. Loth, III. Mr. Loth opened with The Pledge of Allegiance and the introduction of members of the co-op’s board of directors in attendance.
On June 18 the Mason Lions Club met in general session at Nachos presided over by Boss Lion Marty Bentson. Guests included Mark Hahn, who said he would soon be a new member, and Lion John Gammill, past district governor of 214-1, and son of Lion Gene Gammill.
