Recent changes in our financial status with the State of Texas has Mason Independent School District facing dwindling state revenue. Increased local, appraisal values means MISD is being reclassified as a Schedule 41 district for our next school year. Most Texans know Schedule 41 as “Robinhood” school funding where money is redirected from wealthy districts to needy districts throughout the state.
On September 23, 2018 Rebecca Clark of Mason was elected the 92nd President of the Texas Jaycees in an uncontested race. Rebecca began her Jaycee career with the Fredericksburg Chapter where she served in multiple positions including being elected the first female president of the chapter.
In 2012 Rebecca moved to Mason with her husband Jeremy and in 2014 they opened Puncher Towing & Recovery.
Puncher football, recent rains and green grass, friendly neighbors, great businesses, a sky full of stars at night, wildlife and livestock in the pastures, beautiful sunsets, wonderful friends and family! These are just a few of the many blessings we share living in the best hometown in Texas, Mason! There are certainly many more little blessings around us every day, and we should not wait for Thanksgiving to be grateful and share our appreciation of them all.

This is Sue Jordan Pledger your city commissioner enjoying our recent wonderful rain and cooler weather. And especially enjoying Mason being ranked No.1 in 2A Football this year! I attended the game against Comanche and was so impressed with Mason’s skillful execution of plays. I also really enjoyed our band’s performance which was excellent on all levels.
