“Boss” Lion Jim Heidelberg convened the weekly meeting of the Mason Lions Club on March 20. Thirty-three members attended the meeting along with today’s speaker and three guests, Lion Mark Kirby’s son, Tad, and two Mason High School seniors. “Boss” Jim asked the seniors to introduce themselves. Tiani Tovar said after graduation she plans to attend Angelo State University and double major in Communications and Agribusiness.
31 teams, comprising of 242 Mason County participants are Walking Across Texas! This past week alone, participants walked 3557 miles with team Rehab Rockstars leading the way. Congratulations to Rehab Rockstars for walking a whopping 292.43 miles in a seven day period! The Rehab Rockstars will showcase their success by holding bragging rights to the Golden Shoe trophy for a week!
Over Spring Break two teams represented Mason High School at UIL State CX Debate. Joshua Fluhmann, the son of John and Andrea, and Raegan Palacio, the daughter of John and Deandra comprised one team. The other team representing Mason consisted of Grace Chapman, the daughter of Shain and Michelle, and Jenna Johnson, the daughter of Billy and Donna.

The warm weather is a welcome relief, but I have not seen any mesquite trees budding out so I expect we still have some cold weather on the way, even if it is just a few days till Easter. Spring Break is also over for the schools, so the students are back in class and looking at just a couple of months till graduation and summer activities.
