Riata held their membership meeting on Tuesday, March 27th, at the beautiful home of Judy Cordes. Co- Hostesses were Lisa Heath and CJ Reardon. Vice President, Doris Courtright welcomed Ann Scarth to the meeting. Ann has been a nurse for 30 years and is serving as Wesley Nurse under the Methodist Healthcare Ministries (MHM).
Mason County 4H members completed their 2018 Major Livestock Show season in April. In total, Mason County 4H members entered 236 animals at seven major shows. A great livestock show season for Mason County 4H. Below are the results from each show.

Mason County Judge, Jerry Bearden, has been honored by the Texas Judicial Academy for going the extra mile to be prepared to handle his duties as county judge.

“Boss” Lion Jim Heidelberg convened the weekly meeting of the Mason Lions Club on March 27. A total of 40 persons attended, including Kingsland Lion Mona Soland, Mason High School Counselor Melany Canfield, five MHS students and 33 Lions.
“Boss” Jim recognized two visiting seniors from Mason High School, Alana Evans and Brookelyn Doss.
Angel Arredondo, a native of Mason who now lives in San Marcos, was recently crowned Ms. Wheelchair Texas 2018. She will be going to nationals in Grand Rapids, MI, in July to represent people with disabilities from our great state of Texas.
The Ms. Wheelchair America and Ms. Wheelchair Texas Pageants are competitions designed to select the most accomplished and articulate spokeswoman for the millions of disabled Americans.
Congratulations to Rehab Rockstars for walking the most miles in the Walk Across Texas campaign for two weeks in a row! The Rehab Rockstars reported a whopping 302 miles this past week and once again hold bragging rights to the Golden Shoe trophy! Rehab Rockstars’ team members include Christina Gonzales (captain), Cynthia Cunningham, Carrie Gonzales, Joe Angel Gonzales, Bandi Burch, Justin Burch, Cory Rohlf, and Tammy Rohlf.
This past Palm Sunday, St Joseph’s Youth Group re-enacted the Stations of the Cross. The stations are an old Catholic tradition dating back to the Middle Ages when Christians longed to make a pilgrimage to the Holy Land but found it impossible. Instead we trace Jesus’s journey along the way of the cross to Calvary in our own church.
The teens brought the stations alive through their own lens, reflecting on Jesus’ struggle in the context of their own life experience.
